Soundbank of Modern Human

“SoundBank of Modern Human” for ensemble, objectophones and sampler is based on the composer’s database of sounds surrounding modern man. Street noises, hums of electrical devices, sounds made by objects, sounds of devices, human activity, sounds delivered by various media, noises and crackles of electromagnetic waves… These sounds, recorded, catalogued, arranged analogously to virtual samplers into “sound banks” or soundbanks, are the core of the piece. Some of these sounds are pleasant or neutral, we would like to free ourselves from others but cannot (sound pollution, rustling of ubiquitous plastic or paper bags), we are addicted to some (e.g. notification sounds on the phone). Many everyday sounds are so closely connected to our lives that their sound causes the brain to secrete adrenaline or endorphins. This can even be a threat to the functioning of the body. Contrary to appearances, many of these sounds are musical in nature, but we do not perceive them as such (rhythmic sequences of the elevator machine room or coffee machine, micro-melodies of the intercom or the machine printing bus tickets, harmonies of humming transformers, etc.). You just have to listen to them or arrange them appropriately on the timeline for them to become music. In the “SoundBank of Modern Human” the audience will also be involved in this process.
